This product works as advertised. It's not magic, but definitely lets you get air to where you want it and is wonderful for getting the fire going again after it has died down and you've added more wood. It's not that it's dramatically better than getting in there and blowing, just a hell of a lot more convenient. Not perfect, I would like to see it a little longer and with something like a flare at each end to help grip it to aid in extension, but it's a fun and functional tool.Naturally, the first thing I did after getting mine was to try to make a few of my own using a set of rabbit ears and a piece of copper water line from my old refrigerator. The three I made actually worked decently well, though I still strongly prefer the pocket bellows.
I know these are actually good stuff but looks like they've been opened... thankfully the pocket bellows are there
After meeting someone on the trail with one on these I ordered one the day I got back. Ive always used my sit pad to fan fire or just blew on it. Use this tiny magic wand once and you will laugh at how effortless tending to your fire can be!I have bought a lot of backpacking gadgets and gizmos throughout the years that end up in my odds and ends box, this is not one of those. It will be in my fire kit from now on!
This is a good little buy. Itll get a fire going pretty darn quick. I do think it couldve been slightly cheaper for a little half a car antenna thing, but I wont complain much because it is pretty smart idea. After blowing through it a couple times it will start to produce a little condensation, but I just air it out a bit and no biggy. I am glad I got it, works good for my fireplace and Im sure Ill bring it for backpacking or camping.
